A relaxed destination wedding in the Tuscan countryside...

Despite the Coronavirus Pandemic!

as told by the bride

Planning our wedding abroad in Italy during a global pandemic was one of the biggest challenges to date, and I've been in the UK wedding industry for 15 years... My own wedding weekend wasn't going to phase me!

David and I decided that the wedding would go ahead regardless of numbers and we would enjoy the wedding if we managed to get all our loved ones there or only just a few as it was a celebration of our love as a family. Thankfully we had a perfect amount of 21 guests plus ourselves and 6 year old son. Having an intimate wedding enabled us to spend time with everyone without having the regret that we never got round to chatting with everyone .

Great Wedding Planning

Working with a recommended Wedding Planner like Marry Me in Tuscany - Hewelin helped with venue and catering sourcing and all the complicated details from contracts to payments and generally kept the communication between us all flowing at times which were quiet stressful due to Covid 19. Hewelin and her team deserve a medal for keeping us sane and focused on why a Tuscany wedding would be so fabulous and unlike no other .

A Beautiful and Personal Celebration

Focusing on the aspects we could, such as the Celebrant lead ceremony which was bespoke to us, and the timing of the whole wedding weekend event, helped us feel a bit more in control in another country.

Luckily we had researched all our suppliers from their testimonials to their Instagram, as well as Google reviews, and followed it up with Zoom calls so everyone had the same vision as us and that they understood the flow of the wedding.

Relaxed wedding photography in the Tuscan countryside

The photography was really important to us as it would be capturing the memories on paper, and after being totally honest with Liz on our likes and dislikes we both knew she understood our vibe and vision so we were able to relax which reflects in the perfect moment images.

Advice for couples currently planning their own destination wedding...

I would say don't stress over the small details as they tend to iron out on the day as it evolves. Go with the flow and trust your Team around you as the sunshine passes and shadows fall but the memories love and laughter with friends and family outlasts it all !

Can we do it all again ??? We would in a heartbeat AND a pandemic !!! Xxx
